Research Scientist/Technician Wanted!
Bryjalab (Faculty of Science, MUNI) is looking for
a lab technician/researcher with a background in cell biology / biochemistry / protein purification / molecular biology (with M. Sc. / Mgr. title).
Workload: 40 hours per week
Start date: as soon as possible / upon agreement (start date after state exams possible)
Proficient communication in written and spoken English is needed.

Work Tasks
- General molecular biology tasks: DNA and protein analysis, transformation, DNA extraction, cloning, PCR
- General cell culture tasks: mammalian and insect cell culture, transfection and transduction
- Protein expression: bacterial, insect and mammalian systems
- Protein purification: AKTA-based purification methods (affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion, etc.)
- Other tasks: preparation of buffers, SDS-PAGE, western blotting, protein quantification
The list of experimental tasks is indicative – the proficiency in the methods is an advantage but the person will be trained by the members of Bryjalab.

Information about the lab
Laboratory of Cellular Communication led by prof. Vitezslav Bryja attempts to contribute to understanding of some key molecular aspects of transduction of the Wnt signal between the Frizzled receptor, the protein Dishevelled (DVL) and other proteins in the Wnt signaling, mainly Casein kinase 1 epsilon (CK1e). We believe these findings will become the basis for identification of new therapeutic targets for curing the tumors caused by the Wnt pathway deregulation.
