Section of Microbiology

Our department's mission is to educate qualified professionals in the fields of microbiology and molecular biotechnology, who can find employment in research institutions, clinical laboratories, biotechnology companies, and pharmaceutical firms. We provide education in Microbiology at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels. We guide our students towards independent and creative thinking, diligence, responsibility, respect for moral values, teamwork, and solidarity. We teach them to work systematically with information, to design and conduct experiments, to correctly interpret results, to critically draw conclusions, and to present their findings in a comprehensible manner to both experts and the general public.

Our scientific activities are focused on studying microorganisms that play a crucial role in the decomposition of toxic substances in the environment, researching pathogenic microorganisms responsible for diseases in vertebrates, and developing green biotechnological procedures.
