Doc. Mgr. Jan Bouchal, Ph.D

He graduated in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Masaryk University. He subsequently applied his knowledge of molecular biology to research into cancer and built a successful scientific career in the field of molecular pathology. He currently works at the Faculty of Medicine, Palacký University, and at Olomouc University Hospital, where he heads the Department of Clinical and Molecular Pathology. His research focuses primarily on the identification and use of biomarkers for cancer, particularly prostate cancer, with the aim of improving diagnosis, prognosis and treatment for patients.

Mgr. Jana Staveníková

Mgr. Jana Staveníková

A graduate of the Experimental Plant Biology programme at Masaryk University, she now works on forage crop breeding at the Agricultural Research Institute in Troubsko. In her work, she utilises both traditional breeding approaches and modern methods of molecular biology and microbiology.

Anna Štaud

Anna Štaud

She graduated in Microbiology, where her dissertation focused on the use of methanogenic microorganisms in biogas production. She continues to work in the field of biotechnology at Bene Meat Technologies a.s., where she is involved in the production of ethical and sustainable food for both humans and pets – cultured meat. Here, she is part of a team focused on the production and optimisation of culture media for mammalian cells and is responsible for the development of cell lines for Pet Food products.

Jiří Cejnar

Jiří Cejnar

He completed a Bachelor’s degree in Experimental Biology, during which he was involved in research at the Department of Microbiology, where he subsequently went on to undertake his Master’s degree. After graduating in 2021, he joined Bioveta, where he worked as a product manager and later as deputy head of bacterial vaccine production. Since 2022, he has headed the bacteriology and mycology department, managing a team of thirty and contributing to the development and introduction of new vaccines into production.

RNDr. Terezie Malík Mandáková, Ph.D.

RNDr. Terezie Malík Mandáková, Ph.D.

She completed a PhD programme in General and Molecular Genetics and is now one of the internationally recognised scientists in the field of evolutionary genomics and plant chromosome biology. Her research focuses on the evolution of plant genomes, changes in chromosome organisation, and the mechanisms underlying the emergence of plant biodiversity. She is Head of the Laboratory of Plant Molecular Genetics at the Department of Genetics and Molecular Biology, Masaryk University, and also works at the CEITEC MU institute. She has received numerous awards for her scientific achievements; amongst other honours, she was ranked by Forbes as one of the 25 most influential women in Czech science.

Mgr. Dominik Bleša

Mgr. Dominik Bleša

A PhD student in Experimental Plant Biology, specialising in mycorrhizal symbioses and endophytic fungal associations. He also works at the Agricultural Research Institute in Kroměříž, where he carries out applied research in the field of plant protection and production.
